Laurie O’Reilly is a contemporary full time figurative and environmental painter. As a young adult, she travelled extensively, returning to Canada she received a science degree, with a minor in Fine Art, from the University of Guelph.
“I am an observer and a visual story teller. My art is always narrative driven. I work to have my artistic voice speak poignantly to our flawed interactions with; our children, our youth, our loved ones, and our environment.
Using the power of the medium, whether acrylic, encaustic, sculpture or installation, I endeavour to create work that is thought provoking as well as open enough, thematically and technically, to invite the viewer into the process.“
